Isotactic polypropylene morphology

The solid state characteristics of polypropylene are of great importance in this industry as they determine the properties and behavior in the final application of the polymer.

Stereoregularity, molecular weight and its distribution, the presence and distribution of comonomer units, processing conditions, orientation and the addition of fillers or nucleants are factors that condition its behavior in the solid state and, ultimately, determine the percentage of crystallinity and the crystalline morphology of polypropylene.

Understanding all these factors and their mechanism of action is fundamental as it is the most direct way to control the properties of the polymer.
