Limit heat sources to the minimum necessary as they disturb the air intake of the fume hood.
Handle the minimum necessary quantities of product.
Do not operate in the fume hood with the vertical and horizontal windows open at the same time.
Perform slow movements in order to avoid turbulence.
In case of detecting an anomaly in the aspiration, close the guillotine and inform the Laboratory Service personnel of the situation. Do not use the fume cupboard and signal it as out of use or out of order.
After using a fume hood it is recommended:
Leave the showcase clean and tidy.
Close the guillotine and leave the fume cupboard running until the contamination generated has been removed (15-30 minutes).
The fume cupboard should not be used as a storage unit for chemicals, material or equipment.
The use of personal protection is recommended:
Long-sleeved gowns with tight-fitting cuffs are recommended.
Use gloves impermeable to the solutions handled.
Safety glasses.
